Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith is a Professor of Practice at the University of New South Wales and the Chief Executive Officer of Out for Australia. As the former Australian Government Women in STEM Ambassador (2018-24), she was responsible for increasing participation in STEM education and careers across Australia. She has served on numerous advisory groups on STEM industry, education, and workforce development, including the advisory boards of the Australian Space Agency and Questacon. She currently Australia’s STEM representative on the Quad Fellowship International Advisory Board. Harvey-Smith previously worked in research leadership and observatory operations roles at CSIRO. She is an author of 11 astronomy books for adults and children, which are published worldwide.
