Jasmin Diab

Jasmin Diab describes herself as a mum, leader, nerd, and diversity advocate. With decades of experience in the Australian nuclear landscape, Jasmin has established herself as a foremost nuclear security specialist. She currently serves as the Managing Director of Global Nuclear Security Partners Australia and sits on the Board of the UNSW Nuclear Innovation Centre. Her leadership extends to her role as Past President of Women in Nuclear Australia and as the Oceania representative on the Women in Nuclear Global executive. In addition, she is a Senior Associate with Mettle Global, a member of the ARPANSA (Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency) Nuclear Safety Committee, and a 2025/26 Superstars of STEM candidate.

Jasmin’s career began with a background in explosive ordnance disposal. Over 22 years of active service, she provided operational and training support focused on countering chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive threats, gaining experience in both domestic and international operational settings.

Jasmin excels at leading multidisciplinary teams in complex and uncertain environments. After completing her tenure as Commanding Officer of an Engineer Regiment, she was recognised with a Conspicuous Service Cross in the Kings Birthday Honours 2023 for her outstanding leadership. Additionally, she became the inaugural recipient of the 2024 Charles Curtis Award for Excellence in Nuclear Security from the World Institute of Nuclear Security. This honour acknowledges her active and passionate advocacy and education efforts supporting peaceful nuclear technologies and promoting a diverse and inclusive nuclear workforce for the future.

Jasmin is a certified nuclear security professional accredited by the World Institute of Nuclear Security and is a Fellow with Engineers Australia. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in physics and chemistry, a Masters in Defence and Military Studies, and a Masters in Engineering Science (Nuclear Engineering). She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
